Welcome! I’m Bill.

The story begins with tap dance. When I first discovered it, I was 16.

I’ve been making noise with my feet ever since.

Like most who pursue a life in the arts, my journey as a tap dance choreographer/performer/teacher has come with much challenge and uncertainty. In spite of this, it has been a truly wonderful adventure. I have travelled much of the world, built a wealth of experience and stories, and have worked and shared the love of this art-form with thousands of remarkable people.

But for me, tap dance is only the beginning.

‘Limbo’ – a one-man work for theatre.

I identify as a ‘Multipotentialite’, someone with more than one creative pursuit or calling. In addition to tap dance, my creative curiousity often leads me toward writing, photography, acting, music, film and design.

I am happiest when creating and I thrive on work. I spend my days diving in to a variety of creative adventures and projects.

No matter where the journey takes me, it’s usually not long before the call of the wooden floor has brought me back to tap dance.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. When the world is not in the grips of a global pandemic, I host monthly masterclasses for adults. I love to teach and to travel; I run sporadic classes in other areas where I can.

But, so you know…

I regularly take spontaneous social-media cleanses, often lasting months at a time. I share when there are things to share, and for this, I use Instagram. If I’m posting, it’ll be here:

Lastly, I wanted to share a quote that I enjoy to ponder:

“No other care has he in life but to keep his mind from straying into paths incompatible with those of an intelligent and social being.”
